Each year, the league table of school results provides a snapshot of the performance by schools across the State. Trinity Grammar School is considered to be one of the very best schools in the nation, and the world. However, due to the limitations of the league tables, Trinity’s high performance may not always be reflected accurately in the league tables.
The core reason for this is that the league tables are formulated by the percentage of Higher School Certificate (HSC) Band 6 results alone.
Over one third of our Year 12 students in 2017 completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma instead of the HSC. Of these students one achieved a perfect score of 45, equating to an ATAR of 99.95 and equal to first in the world, while a further five attained near perfect scores of 44. Trinity’s overall IB results were among the best in the country, however these are not translated to the published league table.
Trinity Grammar School received excellent results in 2017. Here are just a few highlights:
- A median ATAR of 89.70
- 32 HSC All Round Achievers or IB Distinctions
- 23 students received an ATAR over 99, equal to approximately the top 1% of the state
- 31% of students achieved an ATAR equivalent to or above 95
- 49% achieved an ATAR equivalent to or above 90
- 60% achieved an ATAR equivalent to or above 85.
